The key secret to obtaining dynamic, powerful faith that moves mountains is humility. In Matthew 23:12 Jesus presents a very important Old Testament precept, "Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted."
The way to obtaining a powerful life with God is humility. It is the way Christ and saints. In fact, one could say that if Jesus humility did not exist in Jesus, He would not have been able to declare His unity in God.
Ego or the existence of a mentally fabricated self is the greatest barrier to knowing God and having His power work in our lives.
Jesus rightly points out that unless the self becomes diminished, we cannot fully experience God.
Here's a practical step for you to perform. Every morning upon rising take a few minutes to meditate with humility before God. Inevitably the thoughts of life will come to you, and maybe even worry, if they do let go.
Fear, doubt, worry, and the cares of life spring up when we become conditioned to think that results are dependent on us, rather than God. Jesus often said to His disciples, "Oh you of little faith."
Jesus performed miracles because His humility reigned supreme at all levels. He had no image of a fabricated self which is clearly conveyed by the words, "For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me." (John 6:38)
The first hour of the day is the most important. Take 5 minutes completely humble yourself before God. Let go of any thought about yourself, your day, and any problems or worries. Just humble yourself until there is less of you and more of God.
You'll find that the exercise will refresh you and give you a broad sense of peace.
You can practice this exercise throughout the day whenever you feel overwhelmed or just want to feel God's presence. Remember God exalts the humble, so if you continuously humble yourself, you will have a soundly realistic faith in God's power.
