Have you ever noticed how quickly your meditation can be interrupted by thought? And how about during your waking hours? Do you tend to think and think... a lot? Do you experience a racing mind, where thoughts overpower peace and joy?
This happens all the time. That’s why immersing oneself in God's word is do important.
Simply, the Bible dispenses wisdom about life in minimal simplicity and directness, for those of us who love to practice mindfulness around God's word. It’s as simple as John 14:23. Those who love Jesus will meditate upon His word until it becomes the natural thought of the mind.
Most carnality becomes voided when God's word is cultivated at a profound levels. Scripture emphasizes experiencing the word as the truth that brings abundant life, light, and spirit. (See Proverbs 3, 4, and John 14:23)
That’s why I love the following verses. They point us in the direction of simplicity and bolster the way of a peaceful present existence with God.
I hope you enjoy them as much I enjoyed sharing them.
To get the most out these minimalist biblical concepts, set aside, 20 to 40 minutes, go to a quiet room preferably in the morning, and meditatively ponder each verse.
