Suppose tonight Jesus knocked on your door. Would you be ready to meet Him? Could you honestly look into His eyes and feel that you earnestly lived up to His word? His presence penetrates your being and even the most intimate thought is revealed. You shake and utterly break down at His feet.

That's when you realize that much of your life was time and opportunity that could have honored God. At the sight of Jesus you tear and hope for His mercy and love. Jesus doesn't disappoint.

His arms immediately stretch out to you. You embrace Him with all your love. You immediately feel different. You feel light, free, and pure. All you can do is tremble and cry in thanks.

Jesus let's go and strengthens you with loving encouraging words. You feel at peace, healthy, strong. He leaves and in the subsequent days His presence in you lingers. The effect of His words help you to be more loving and understanding. You are peaceful, creative, and joyful. Life is better and living a life closer to God easier because your commitment is deeply rooted in your contact with Jesus.

This is what Christian meditation does for us. Christian meditation helps us to focus on scripture so it becomes the thought of our mind, while we relinquish carnal thought and action. The discipline keeps us close to God while we honor Him with all our heart, soul, and mind.

The day will inevitably come when we will all face Jesus. We will need His mercy and grace, some more than others. There is one undeniable fact we must all face when we think of that day. How will our life be viewed by Jesus?
