There are many important sayings in the Bible, but none is quite as powerful or important to the Christian soul as Matthew 9:29.
In this passage of scripture, Jesus encounters two blind men who follow Him into a house while trying to be healed of their condition.
You might think that Jesus, the Son of God who is loving and compassionate, would touch the men and heal them, or that He may say a word or two to create the immediate changes necessary to see, but He doesn't. Instead, Jesus does something interesting. Jesus looks at the blind men asks them a question, "Do you believe that I am able to do this?"
The men leap at the opportunity and reply with a resounding yes, Lord! So right there in front of all the people in the house Jesus touches the two blind men and says, "According to your faith let it be to you."
I often wonder how many miracles are lost or missed because we lack the faith to believe. Although I highlighted two simple Bible verses, there is enough fodder to last a lifetime.
The Bible does not provide ordinary knowledge; it contains information that illuminates the mind. Take the first verse, which Jesus presents as a question. The first part of the question states, "do you believe," which forces a person to decide between two choices. Either you believe and open the door to endless possibilities, or you don't and go on the way of an ordinary life.
The next part of the question glorifies Jesus and pinpoints for us the source of all creative power, "that I am able to do this?"
When you choose to believe in Jesus, you choose God's unlimited often miraculous power, and when we decide to let out mind move forward into infinite possibilities with God, Jesus will stretch out His hand and touch you.
Then you too might hear the words, "According to your faith let it be to you."
I believe that all of the life's miracles we encounter come to us by simply letting the mind roam free with Jesus. Every type of energy, power, and creative thought exists in Jesus, but if our mind is subject to the culture of the world, it may never see the light of God and therefore never experience God's miraculous power.
Today I'm giving you three simple rules to follow so you can let go of the pattern of this world, let your mind roam free with God's power, and ultimately live a life of endless possibilities with God. Remember, all things are possible with God!
Do you believe Jesus is able? Close your eyes right now and choose Jesus. Believe in Jesus. Let go in Jesus. Say yes to Jesus. Do this until you feel peace in your heart. That's when you know you have made contact with the Prince of Peace.
When the blind men were asked if they believed, they replied positively. Their decision opened the door to new possibilities. Choose to believe. Let go in your belief and live in it. If a negative thought comes your way, cancel it out of your mind and accept Jesus. You need to live in the reality of Jesus.
3. Accept the Miracle
The power of our faith moves the hand of Jesus. Your eyes should still be closed. Begin to let go in the miraculous power of Jesus. The miracle you asked should be as real as something you can touch and see.
Follow these three steps with the faith of a child, and you will act much like the two blind men who were healed from blindness.
This meditation can be performed once in the morning and once at night, the two most important times of the day. As with nearly all meditation, you will reap the benefits of settling your mind but with the bonus of strengthening your faith in Christ Jesus.
Take heart, if you are going through some difficulty pray every day. Prayer has the power to make life better. Never stop praying and meditate. Jesus loves a quiet heart; it is where we can hear the whispers of God.
Never be down if a miracle doesn't happen in an instant. Sometimes miracles happen gradually and over time. Keep praying and meditating on God's word.
I'm praying for you every day. God bless you. See you in the kingdom.
