7 Reasons Why The Next President Should Practice Christian Meditation

Written by: Jeff Ordonez

It’s hard enough to keep your life on the right track – imagine having to be responsible for the lives of an entire nation. The job of a president is recognized as the toughest duty in our society today. A president is more than just a representative of a nation. A president is the leader and it is his or her decision that can either make or break the future of a nation, and along with it the lives of millions. With so much at stake, and such great responsibility placed on the shoulders of one person, taking chances is not an option any can afford. That’s why every detail of their persona is important.

In order to identify who truly deserves a seat at the white house we must know about their decision making process and how they arrived to such conclusions. Christian meditation and Biblical study has a way of unifying all who seek the truth and light of God with one mind. So filtering someones actions and thoughts through the word (Matthew 7:16) is how we know who they are, and ultimately whether they will be a benefit to their country.

Some psychologists* and researchers have argued that it’s important to ensure that the person you’re voting for should meditates on a regular basis, and Christian meditation is by far the most beneficial since it is linked a to God and a Savior who endows us with God's presence, a valuable quality for decision making and of critical importance to the leader of our nation.

Christian meditation is a practice that encourages people to achieve peace of mind and develop a strong relationship with Christ, which in turn strengthens them to become more competent in their daily responsibilities.

Why the Next President Should Practice Christian Meditation

1. It Calms the Mind

It has been noted that the stress and rigors of the presidency can overwhelm even the calmest person. They say that with the top government job a person can barely be hear themselves think once they take the seat of the oval office. Many believe that the stress of becoming the leader of a nation can begin as soon as campaign period starts. Whatever the case, there is no denying that the troubles and difficulties that come with being the commander and chief can be enough to flood an individual’s mind oftentimes drowning out the clarity of good judgment. With so many different concerns requiring urgent resolution all at once, our commander should be able to calm the mind and slow things down in order to see each problem and think of an appropriate solution with clarity. A candidate who performs Christian meditation will be able to silence mental noise and drown out stress in order to focus on God who dispenses wisdom in the quiet moments.

2. It Makes People Stronger

You can’t please everyone, and as a Chief Executive, that might just prove to be the biggest challenge yet. Despite spending long hours contemplating on urgent decisions, people won’t always accept those decisions with open arms. There will always be people who will say that you wrong decisions have been made. This can take a toll on confidence and ultimately the ability to run our country. What’s more, it’s likely that others from around the globe will also judge the president's decisions, which may mean dysfunctional geopolitical ties with allies. The solution to help cope with the mental stress caused by adversity during their term is Christian meditation. By accepting the reality that one can’t make everyone happy and by finding comfort and peace in Jesus Christ one can truly know that decisions are based on a higher calling and are the fulfillment of God's will. This kind of resolve fortifies charter and personality, two qualities of utmost importance for the leader of a nation.

3. It Encourages Collaboration

Contrary to popular belief, a president does not work alone. While he or she might be recognized as the head of a nation, our Chief Executive must cooperate and collaborate with close to a hundred different politicians and officials in order to put projects, programs, and laws into action. Although this is an important part of the job, it can be quite a challenge, especially when many people around the president have solutions of their own. According to a recent survey, Christian meditation has helped a majority of those who practice it to become more understanding and cooperative when it comes to dealing with groups or colleagues. This makes it possible for individuals to come to a compromise and create solutions that strike a good balance, instead of one way, or completely succumbing to the decisions of others. As president, this is an important leadership quality that will guarantee the harmonious and effective rule of power over a nation.

4. It Improves Overall Health and Well-Being

Being constantly subjected to stressful situations, a person will soon experience decreased mental health and ultimately a damaged overall well-being. Because the presidency requires the entirety of a person’s thoughts and efforts, a leader will soon find him or herself experiencing high levels of stress significant enough to reduce their health. The best solution, aside from maintaining a healthy lifestyle, is to keep a positive mentality. The constant practice of Christian meditation can help anyone reduce stress, anxiety, and decrease the chances of developing cardiovascular and other diseases. Soothing mental and physical energies through a contemplative practice frees the human psyche to better fulfill the duties and responsibilities that the job entails.

5. It Helps Maintain a Healthy Level of Concern

As a country’s leader, it’s important that a person who is in charge of social and economic systems show sincere concern for his or her people. This will pave the way towards gaining the trust of the population and will make people more comfortable knowing that their leader won’t put them in harm’s way. But while this is essential, it’s equally important that they do not become overly emotionally attached to their support team. An unreasonable and impractical level of involvement with fellow administrators could lead to further scrutiny and might cause any president to focus on the wrong things. To help maintain a healthy and appropriate level of concern, it's probably a good idea participate in Christian meditation which guides individuals towards understanding their place in the grand scheme of things and playing their role the way it within a much bigger picture.

6. It Reveals the True Self

During the campaign period, a presidential candidate practically puts himself or herself center stage for the nation to see. Voters scrutinize every available detail of a candidate and make their decision based on what they sense and observe. A large portion of the population agrees that they are capable of sensing when a candidate is simply putting their best foot forward in order to please their audience. This mask which many presidential candidates use turns voters away because it casts the idea of an ulterior motive. The best way to resolve this is to be sincere and speak from the heart. Performing Christian meditation is the only way to get in touch with a greater love that affects us on a deep level, a level that enhances our sincerity toward others. Those who constantly practice it claim that their observance has allowed them to become more in-tune with God and others. This insight is void of the mask many politicians use when they face a crowd of potential voters. This is particularly important for those who are running for office as it increases authenticity which wins over the hearts of supporters.

7. It Improves Efficiency

With the urgent nature of the job, a president can’t risk taking too much time with their decisions. Even then, it’s essential that every decision will benefit as many people as possible. The person entrusted to lead our nation should be able to perform his or her responsibilities with utmost efficiency, making timely decisions while improving the lives of his or her people with each choice. Christian meditation is an ideal practice for an aspiring president, or top executive, because it effectively heightens the sense of the ‘now’, making it easier for a president to make sound choices unblemished by the pressure of stress or expectation.
