Are You Hypnotized?

Written by: Jeff Ordonez

We've all seen and heard the miraculous things people do under a state of hypnosis. The human mind is so intriguing that scientists have launched an ongoing effort to understand how and why hypnosis works.

Under strict guidelines and controls, clinical studies show that focused thought in a state of relaxation produces physical results equal, and sometimes better than drugs.

In some patients, hypnosis reduces the restless tremors caused by Parkinson's disease. In others, depending on what's needed it can increase gastric acid in the stomach by eighty-nine percent, or decrease it by thirty-nine percent. People are also finding it helpful when kicking the smoking habit.

The fact is that whatever you believe has the power to change your personality, body, and your life. When your conscious and subconscious perfectly align with one belief your brain goes to work with singular purpose.

Take for example a person who needs to quit smoking. Half of the people who are told during relaxed state that their body is like a child and that it receives anything they give it, and that they need their body to live. This message alone is so powerful that fifty percent never pick up a cigarette again.

This example demonstrates the power of a deeply held idea. In this case, patients who mentally viewed their body as an innocent child at their mercy and who was at risk of death. The deeply held mental imagery was powerful enough to stimulate drastic physical changes necessary to overcome the substance addiction easily.

The concept opens an unlimited number of possibilities that scientists are excitedly exploring today. The newest revelations from the psychosomatic field indicate that the brain can be trained to hold any idea at will. It can also be taught to get rid of the unwanted negative thought.

Rigorous scientific examination shows that the brain of every individual produces an almost infinite number of thoughts. Regardless of condition or demand, our brain generates thousands of thought each day of our life. Tests show that eliminating negative thinking and replace it with something positive results in amazing changes. In another study, the practice reduced worry and anxiety to such a low degree that it completely changed a person's character.

An important factor to consider is how the replacement process works. In laboratory tests, subjects are instructed to let go of any stress-inducing thought while told to create positive ideation. The technique works wonders when properly guided and adopted, but scientists are quickly figuring out that it is not enough to just let go of harmful thinking habits. It's becoming apparent that once a negative thought is discarded, it needs to be replaced with something else. If the replacement process doesn't occur, the mind may replace it automatically with something else. The condition of the person may worsen if the newly adopted ideas are also harmful. They view the brain as a vacuum that needs to be filled and trained continuously.

This remarkable insight is reflected by the words of Jesus who once taught, "When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, he goes through dry places, seeking rest, and finds none. Then he says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ And when he comes, he finds it empty, swept, and put in order. Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there, and the last state of that man is worse than the first." (Matthew 12:43-45)

With this passage, Jesus taught that when a person takes control of their mind and exercises negative harmful thought out but doesn't replace it with something else the inner-being remains void. It may be in good order, but it is empty. The emptiness is an open invitation for something worse to inhabit the space.

If you want to succeed in the triumphant transformation of life, mind, and body, you need to make sure that once you shed the old negative shadows of your mind, you replace them with the light of a glorious thought-life.

The mysterious power that can stop the tremors related to Parkinson's disease, increase or decrease gastric acid in the stomach, transform nicotine addicted victims, and free captives from worry and anxiety is belief.

When a person truly believes, both the conscious and subconscious mind become united in a compatible thought which energizes the brain to achieve the impossible, and it's a gift from God.

So why are so many people living in poverty? Why is seventy-five to ninety percent of all doctor's visited traced to stress? The answer may shock you.

The state of hypnosis happens when the conscious mind loses the power of voluntary action but is highly responsive to deep-rooted idea, concept, or suggestion. You and everyone around you are in a state of hypnosis. You and everyone around you consciously thinks, feels, acts, and speaks according to an inner programing consolidated over years and decades. Change the programming, and extraordinary things happen.

At the present moment, there is a battle for a small area of your brain known as the limbic system, a complex system of nerves and networks in the brain. The structure is responsible for personal motivation, emotion, how you feel physically, learning, the transmission of thought to the body, and memory.

You could say that it is the playground of God or the devil. Give it to God and the totality of miracles is bewildering. Give it to the devil and death gradually snuffs out any evidence of life. The good news is that there is one person that has complete control over the playground, you.

Thought is something you have one hundred percent control over. You may not have control life or anything around you, but you do have control over what you think and how you think.

If we are capable of excellent health and of producing extraordinary results, and if mental programming is suppressing our remarkable aptitudes which we know induces a hypnotic state, then living freely unbound from suppressive mental patterns can be considered a state of de-hypnotism.
