Trouble sleeping or staying asleep is caused by many factors, one of the reasons why people have a hard time sleeping is due to worry or a long to-do list which causes the mind to race with activity.
An overactive mind can disturb sleep and drain your energy the next day and undermine your productivity. A good night's rest is essential to good health, clarity of mind, and creativity.
The results of a clinal trial that appeared in The Journal of the American Medical Association in April 2015 points to mindfulness meditation as more effective than a six-week sleep education course. The technique simply lets people relax and let go of tension as stress.
The results should come as no surprise to Christians since the Bible teaches to cast anxiety on God (1 Peter 5:7) and to rest in His presence. (Matthew 11:28)
