What is CBT? The simplest explanation of cognitive therapy refers to the systematic transformation of our thought and perception for healthier emotional states.
In other words, our thought-life plays such an important role in how we feel that it can be changed to better our mental and emotional states. Anxiety and depression are negative emotional states that are largely influenced by how we think. Positive emotional states like calmness and happiness are also influenced by how we think.
When you consider the different emotional states we experience we can easily equate positive feelings like calmness and happiness with God's infinite grace to love and heal versus anxiety and depression which are based on fearful, oppressive, and hopeless thoughts.
At last, we can pinpoint God's will for you. By simply observing emotional states that either physically harm us or promote health we can emphatically say that as you constantly feel calm and happy God's will for you manifests health through your entire right down to your genes.
God's will for you is to be enlightened by His spirit of love and peace. It's God's will for you to always be in a healthy state of mind. The more you read and practice the techniques in this blog the more at peace you will feel with God.
If you believe like I that we are designed by a superior intelligence beyond our understanding then you believe that our capacity to change is equal to the power that created us. In other words, you believe you have the ability to change the physical world. Didn't Jesus say that your faith can move mountains? (Matthew 21:21)
Your faith is now rewarded with eye-popping studies like the following.
In the first-ever study of 300,000 people led by Meike Bartels and a group of researchers studied DNA material and linked to your levels of happiness to genetic activity.
More studies show that thoughts alone can improve vision, fitness, and even physical strength.
Thoughts are electrochemical events that start in the brain and work their way through your nerve cells producing a cascade of physiological changes.
"There are thousands upon thousands of receptors on each cell in our body. Each receptor is specific to one peptide, or protein. When we have feelings of anger, sadness, guilt, excitement, happiness or nervousness, each separate emotion releases its own flurry of neuropeptides. Those peptides surge through the body and connect with those receptors which change the structure of each cell as a whole. Where this gets interesting is when the cells actually divide. If a cell has been exposed to a certain peptide more than others, the new cell that is produced through its division will have more of the receptor that matches with that specific peptide. Likewise, the cell will also have less receptors for peptides that its mother/sister cell was not exposed to as often."
You may not have known that every thought you generate dispatches masses of neuropeptides. The more you transmit positive thoughts and feelings through your body you generate billions of new cells with positive biochemical signatures.
Jesus was right. What you believe has the power to change the physical realm. It's a power endowed to every human being in every nation from the beginning of time.
You were created in God's likeness and are able to shape the physical realm by your thought.
No matter what happens to you the power change cannot be taken away. Exhaustive scientific data is proving more each day the biblical principle that you are being with power beyond the scope and range of scientific investigation.
Therapeutic sciences are discovering that by changing how we think we change our biochemistry creating healthy micro blueprints for future cellular generations. That's God's and it's working in you right now. Now you need to take control and make it work in positive ways.
Even as you read this blog, it's concepts transmit powerful signals to your cells. As you read you let positive ideas flow from your mind to your body which has positive healing effects. As you go deeper into the material you will find yourself going deeper in thought that you are healthy, strong, and in control of a powerful peaceful sensation with God. Take a few moments to feel that calmness right now.
That's God will for you.
Regular people like you and me are getting making tremendous strides in mental and physical health because science is proving miraculous concepts in the most interesting ways.
We live in exciting times. Science and ancient wisdom are opening minds and changing lives.
Scientific messages from the Bible are becoming clearer every day bringing relief and joy to millions of people. Yet, the principle of changing how we think so we can change our emotional and physical state is as old as scripture.
Look at Romans 12:2
"Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will."
This verse clearly states that you must take control of your thought-life so you can cultivate positive thought so you can live a radiant life in "God's good, pleasing, and perfect will" for you.
You no longer have to live in fear, oppression, or hopelessness. That's not God's "good" will for anyone. God's good will for everyone resides in love, peace, happiness, and in full potential. It's through those positive emotional qualities that we learn and grow and learn through life.
The truth is there isn't a perfect solution to anxiety. That's why the most important criteria to change is your desire to change. Your desire to change boosts the effectiveness of any treatment, therapy, or therapeutic guide.
The content in this blog will help you stay motivated and on track in fulfilling your desire to end anxiety and start feeling again with God.
Before you go any further I want you to think for a moment about the fascinating things you've learned so far.
You learned that science and faith are miles apart when it addresses health issues, yet science proves that your body changes by what you believe.
Another part of the health equation is desire, the desire to heal and get better. Your desire to get well propelled you to get to this blog, learn new techniques, and take action toward your goal.
Taking action with the faith that God will heal you will do more for you than treatment alone. That's what I and many others are learning. Although I studied authoritative reports about how to fix anxiety nothing came close to my desire to overcome it with God who overcomes all things. I needed information that combined both, that's when the concept for this blog was born.
Throughout this blog, I teach techniques based on cognitive behavioral therapy but with your faith of God at the center.
Although you get all the information you need to analyze anxiety, applicable techniques to reduce it, and faith inspiring information the results will come when you take action.
Action and constant practice are how your faith comes alive in practical terms. It's how you enable God's power to work in you.
In James 2:14-17 the scripture says "What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works?"
Your faith in the vision of your future self helps you take action toward a healthier mind and body.
