Don't Hide Your Anxiety - Heal From It (Part 3)

The process of how the brain learns from a problem just by verbalizing seems magical. It's as if when we share our problems we open the door to higher understanding and receive from God spiritual insight and knowledge.  

At the center of all therapy is sharing your thoughts and feelings with someone else. The practice goes back thousands of years. It's even a prescribed practice in the Bible.

"Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed." James 5:16

What we're learning is that human beings are wired to benefit from expressing bothersome thoughts and feelings. Our mind and body are designed to change when we recognize problems that cause turmoil.  

Triggering our fantastic healing nature by thinking, verbalizing, and learning from mental disturbances is the aim of all therapeutic practices. But, the ancient wisdom of the Bible discloses one additional step for complete healing, prayer.

Prayer has several meanings, but in this context, it is the quiet meditative practice of requesting spiritual power in the accomplishment of a clear well defined mental image.

Jesus couldn't have explained it better. Here's how He describes prayer, "Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them." Mark 11:24

It's not only worthwhile to consult a mental health professional but visualizing your ideal state in prayer while asking God to complete the internal transformation you vividly see can finish the change.

I'm happy to report not only did I fix my own anxiety but I became empowered to a higher level. Actually winning at something gives you the confidence to move forward into new unexplored areas.

This happens because your brain quickly learns that the greatest barriers we face are in the mind. Once we learn that obstacles must first be conquered in the mind we can move ahead with action to achieve anything.

This is the most freeing experience anyone can enjoy. After the burden of harmful thought is lifted, we become energized. It's as if a new life of unlimited potential opens up inside us, that's when the mind sparkles with creativity and enthusiasm.

I was astounded at how clear my view of all aspects of my business became when the harmful effects of sick thinking were gone. I saw deficiencies and opportunities and quickly implemented changes. In my personal life, I understood my wife and son more clearly when we communicated with each other and became much closer as a family. 

My early morning prayer meditations also improved. They became more clear and profound setting a powerful precursor for extraordinary activity the rest of the day. And it didn't stop there, my exercise routine was more focused and enjoyable.

I thought if this is possible for me, then it's possible for everyone. So I wondered, "How many people in our audience have anxiety." When I sent a mass email and learned that nearly twenty-five percent of our listeners had anxiety I had to take action.

I was even more amazed to know that almost all of them were not receiving help of any kind.

I'm not a mental health care professional, not even close. But I am a person who has investigated hundreds, maybe thousands of medical reports as well as personal stories, and have overcome my limitations.

The best thing you can do right now is to share with others how you feel. Be sure that you choose someone you trust and who can support you through your journey.
