Idealize The End of Anxiety

Written by: Jeff Ordonez

The first thing you need to understand is that there's a lot you can do to minimize anxiety and eventually overcome it. On a scale from 0 to 10, I would rate my anxiety at ZERO for 99.9% of my day. If I do feel anxious, which is rare, it's the general kind usually related to an unforeseen circumstance. What's amazing is that I've learned that deep down inside we all have peace, a strong abiding peace that can be sensed during adversity and it's this peace that keeps us stable in any situation. I also learned that there are a few simple things we can do to not only help us feel peace but to cultivate our sense of it in greater proportions.

I found that a combination of dietary and physical practices can penetrate layers of anxiety and get to our God-given peace power. It may take weeks, months, or years for you to get back your life, but rest assured with enough training, practice, and determination you will succeed. If I did it and so can you.

The first thing you need to know is that you need to take consistent action. Determination coupled with faith toward an ideal goal can compel most people to overcome any challenge. When I started my journey, it felt insurmountable. I just couldn't see a way out. What got me motivated was the idea of freedom and the vision of an ideal life with God where I could live in peace expressing my full potential in everything I undertook. I wanted it so bad that I was willing to do anything.

The biggest lesson I learned is this, if you choose to attack the problem go about it with absolute determination and conviction. Anything less than total commitment and determination cannot yield an extraordinary result. My journey was very gradual and unfolded over 9 months.

Your ideal possibility must be so real in your mind that it will carry you through the hard times and stimulate your creativity for new approaches. You have it in you. God never allows a person to be put in a situation unless they have the power to overcome it. You have that power, you just need to be aware that you have it and that there are things you can do to help it flow.

Unbeknown to most people there are many things people do and don't do that hinders God's power in life. I want to show you things you need to stop doing as well as things you need to start doing to support that power, and it starts with your mind.

Your self-image is designed by you. Unfortunately, most of us forget we are the image of God. Most people don't direct their self-image. Before you begin, you need to mentally discard the old self and take on the image of the invisible God who is Christ. (Colossians 1:15)

You need to know that your ideal self already exists and you need to hold that image in your mind, constantly. Then you need to go from where you are now to the image in your mind. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1) The evidence of your mind is what you need to accomplish.

In my case, I knew I could live in God's power, grace, and peace which provides poise, understanding, and wisdom. I saw in myself as a peaceful and powerful person who reacts intelligently in all situations. In my mind, I saw a person who had control over his mind, nervous system, and entire body. I saw God as the power that keeps me whole, complete, and under control. I knew God blessed me, and everyone else, with gifts of thought, creativity, and freewill so we can execute an ideal vision that not only benefited us but others.

But here's the problem I encountered, and you might be too. No matter how hard I tried to control my mind from going into an uncontrolled frenzy, I couldn't. It was a losing battle.  So I decided to attack!

I knew I needed to break the cycle in mind. I noticed the cycle started with a thought or a mental image about something, then I imagined all kinds of negative outcomes, then I'd experience feelings of doubt and fear, and then physical trembling, and cold sweats started.

The whole cycle led to feelings of inadequacy and weakness which led to more fictitious thought patterns, and the whole cycle started again.

It was a nightmare. A couple of nights I woke up in a panic, that's when I decided to take drastic action. I knew I had to crush anxiety. It was my enemy, and it was hurting my self-image. I was deteriorating from the inside. I had to fight, and I had to win. My health, dreams, goals, were all on the line. Worst yet, my wife was losing the man she married, and my son was losing a father. So I made up mind to conquer and become victorious, PERIOD!

The first thing I decided to do was to break the cycle in my body. I rationalized that if I could stop my mind from affecting my body by some means like with supplements or a special diet, I could begin working on my mind and so I can eventually conquer everything.

Meditation was the last step to idealizing a better future. You should always consult your doctor if you think you have anxiety.
