All to frequently we need the Lord's oasis of tranquillity. Chaos reigns supreme is our excruciatingly hectic, chaotic, trouble-ridden and anxiety-afflicted lives. While words of inspiration and motivational quotes always look nice and catchy on bumper stickers, in real life when faced with real problems, the struggle becomes so real that it is not easy to be strong and stay happy. Chaos can come from any direction, but generally it is related to relationships, bills, health, family, and work. Left unchecked these occurrences will begin to affect us psychologically and give birth to anxiety, stress and depression.
Then the problems, worries and tensions are magnified and sickness can quickly ensue. The once pesky annoyances become intense and burdensome. Few people can carry them without buckling under the pressure. People who bear these pressures are often mentally overstimulated which causes the adrenal system to constantly produce stress hormones. Are you strong enough to bear the constant challenges of life? Most people are not, they might think they are, but quietly the stress signals of the brain are creating an unhealthy domino effect in the body. Some bodies may be able to withstand the strain longer than others, but all human bodies will eventually breakdown.
So what is the solution? What does God say in face of all your troubles and worries:
‘Be still and know that I am God’.
Even if you don’t attend Church regularly, or don’t consider yourself a devout Christian, Christian meditation provides you way to connect with God, experience his glory and wisdom, while relieving your mind of countless psychological afflictions that harm the body. Your time with God during a state of contemplation will wipe your mind clean. Jesus is the door when you enter you will find peace. John 10:9 It is impossible to achieve high quality productivity, lasting success, and solid emotional stability without spiritual development. Our spiritual development with the Lord is paramount if we want life filled with Spirit of God bearing in His likeness under God's will and power.
In the face of all the destructive and negative conscious and subconscious thought that constantly bewilder the mind, Christian meditation allows us to be still and see God's light, Jesus, the true Savior of our humanity. In these moments of spiritual relinquishment our faith and inner strength is restored by His blessed glory and mercy. Ocean waves of peace flood the mind as we become one with Christ in the quietness of our contemplation. Scientists and doctors have measured this brainwave activity and label
it as Alpha and Theta, the two most prominent brain waves recorded during a state of meditation. For us Christians the brainwave phenomena is simply a by-product of our contact with Jesus, the Prince of Peace. Our contact with Jesus is what permits us to brim with the light of the Lord, and then project His love and mercy to others with the serenity of Christ's heart.
Another way of entering a state of stillness with the Lord is with music. Music was created by God for the act of worship. Soothing delightfully relaxing melodies can assist your spiritual discipline in reaching wholeness with Christ. Sound can be a very powerful tool for any devout Christian seeking a deep and mindful experience with God. Any time spent with the Lord is time that the can can be restored to God's divine blueprint of health. Anxieties, worries and troubles will drain away. What's left behind will be the
true you. The you that is stripped from all inner conflict or toxic psychology, a child of the living God. Feeling relaxed and lighter after your exposure with the Holy One Spirit has a way of fading the countless fears and nagging inhibitions that short circuit the mind. Absent of destructive patterns the mind is free to use 100% of its energy to complete all tasks to the glory of God. Problems are removed and obstacles are conquered with an intense calm power, God.
Christian meditation is a truly replenishing and invigorating experience. Regardless of how tough you consider your battle to be, after just one sitting of meditation, you will feel different. The physical, spiritual, and emotional enhancements can be felt almost immediately.
We all need encouragement, motivation, and inspiration. What better encouragement than the words and promises of our Almighty God? “Be still and know I am God” Truly, the art of Christian meditation opens your heart and soul to receive the bounty and light of God with gratitude, submissiveness, and most importantly, love. When the loving, healing and nourishing light of God enters your body, mind and soul, the door of God's heaven will bee seen and God's glory, wisdom, and love is experienced. Covered by God's divine presence illuminates the mind with the eternal reality that diminishes worldly situations to their proper position.
Indeed, “meditate” is one of the most recurrent words in the bible, and its use has been greatly stressed and recommended as an effective and essential way to form us to connect and communicate with our Lord. The point is, God is waiting for you to initiate contact, reach for him, in the oneness of your heart, soul, and mind, and God will reward you with His abundant and graceful presence. Being still with Jesus you can bask in light, mentally soar in the Spirit, and become refreshed with peace and calmness.
How Christian Meditation Can Help You
- Strengthen your faith and improve your communication with God
- Conquer all doubt regarding the existence of God, Jesus Christ, and make progress towards spiritual development and replenishment.
- Strengthens your resolve by giving you confidence in God, courage and motivation to overcome battles while staying strong.
- It allows you to be grateful by reflecting in humility over God's unlimited power and mercy.
- It rids and cleanses your mind of all toxic stress, anxiety and depression that impair the energy of the brain.
- Christian meditation drains away anger, resentment, and frustration, while releasing endorphins which will make you feel lighter and happier.
- It soothes nerves after a tiring and excruciatingly laborious day at work, and gives you peace and tranquillity in moments of great chaos and despair.
The bible implores you, asks you, and invites you to meditate. Meditation is the process of letting go all worldly psychology for a few minutes so God can gain ground in us. Then the cultivated word in ourselves can come alive and propel us with great success in the will of God.
“Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.”
We need to understand that the answer to all our prayers is in the embodiment of the Lord in us. The Lord stated that He is the vine and we are His branches. Jesus, living the word of God, is our best hope when there is hopelessness. He is guidance in our plight. By forming a connection with our Lord and Savior, we allow God's presence to manifest within us.
There are so many things in our lives that are simply beyond our control. The world will move forward and some of its natural progress may interfere with the picture of the ideal life we have in mind. Since we can't manipulate or alter life around us, Christian meditation is our best hope to become an island of spiritual peace, hope, and love in an otherwise chaotic world. The fact that you,may not be a regular Church goer or a typical Christian, is of little importance. You are a human being born in the image of God who can upwardly improve by having deep spiritual contact with God and the study of the Bible. Christian meditation is the vehicle you need to form your own unique connection with the Lord your God, and to bask in his light and mercy.
