The Second Greatest Commandment - Love Your Neighbor as Yourself (2)

Written by: Jeff Ordonez

With a busy life consumed with activity, it's not always easy to focus on one's spiritual activities. In fact, it's difficult but easy when you know to switch your thinking and God gives you the perfect thought template you can use over and over.

The first thing seen from the Father's view is value. God values every life created in His image. Seeing your neighbor with value is how you switch your thinking from the daily grind to a supernatural perspective, and it only takes seconds.

Seeing every person around you with value opens an enormous opportunity. This simple technique begins to move us in harmony with God. Loving others with value toward creation brings us understanding from God and the principles that govern the invisible universe.

Untold possibilities for us are freed when we move with our thought into the selfless realm of God. God's intelligence guides us when our intelligence is tuned to His.

In John 17:23, the Bible tells us that the Father loves us as much as He loves Jesus but it's up to us to make ourselves available to God, and it starts with how you think. If you think more like God you become more loving toward others.

Switching your mind to think with love and value for others lays the foundation to the cultivation of a fertile field that yields spiritual fruit for this lifetime and into eternity.

Seeing others with love and value like God does sows the seeds of kindness, compassion, grace, forgiveness, understanding, and patience into your life. It's in these qualities that God resides and takes pleasure through His Spirit.

The Bible says, “it’s God who works in us both to will and to do of His good pleasure” (Philippians 2.13) For God's power to meet all our needs beyond measure we must let God's intelligence flow through us by spiritual qualities developed in His likeness. God takes enormous pleasure where His spiritual characteristics are found.

Life is about growth. It is dynamic in every aspect. It is always moving, never standing still. The manifestation of God's life through all things is either hindered or magnified by how we think and act. That's what God teaches us with His commandments and loving others is how we become powerhouses with God.

Learning to love others without condition or limit we learn of our potential. (Matthew 5:48)

Take advantage of the infinite possibilities all around you. Stress and anxiety about a situation or future are nonexistent to the person who thinks, sees, and moves in God's being.

The only law you have to master in the cultivation of a supernatural life with God is the law of giving, a law as old as the Bible itself.

When you learn how to give from the heart without reservation something incredible happens.

Everything becomes more clear. You come into harmony with God and your vision opens to endless possibilities. Peace enters your heart, and subtle joy becomes your companion.

This is your chance to mold and shape your life with the power that has been around you all your life.

Every morning and every day make it a habit to switch your brain to love and value. Takes a few quiet moments to each day to meditate on what it means to value others from God's point of view, then hold that thought all day.

If you're willing to take the risk of acting with more love and compassion then you are willing to walk with God and the results will astound you.

Loving your neighbor means that you are aware of the well-being of others. 1 Corinthians 13 says, “love protects”, and in Philippians 2:4 it says, “Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.” In looking after the well-being of others you become a vessel of God. The very nature of God as love in the flesh.

This is the core insight of what it means to be a servant of God. Serving others from the heart is kindness in action and therefore and embodied attribute.

Forgiveness will is not far away when you are kind. Love makes allowances for errors and in forgiveness, we find our own forgiveness. And where there is forgiveness there is joy.

The Bible says we are to “rejoice with those who rejoice, mourn with those who mourn” (Romans 12:15). Embodying God's love for others means our heart is full of mercy and joy for others.

Celebrating or mourning with others in spite of our own pain is how we become more perfected and developed with Christ.

Your spiritual development doesn't happen on its own. It happens when you consciously prioritize love. When you take the time to focus your view of life with love for others that's when your mind will open to God.

Like the bright sun breaking through clouds over a pristine meadow, your mind will reap the benefit of God's light.

Now you need to go to work. Download the 120 Commandments and execute God's commandments with a deep abiding love for others.
